Diana Berthold is a resourceful, knowledgeable and artistic person who succeeds very well in implementing her wonderful skills through craft programs for children and young adults. She has presented many programs for young adults at our library. Diana has had a wonderful way in presenting her programs and teaches her projects (from quilting, hair braiding, origami to sea shell wind chimes) in a friendly and encouraging manner that puts her audience at ease! The young adults who were part of her programs always had big smiles on their faces when they finished her crafts.

I would highly recommend her programs for presentation at any organization or public library.

Andrea Huff, Young Adult Librarian Deer Park Public Library Deer Park, NY

Diana, I thoroughly enjoyed Diana's presentation on the horse and the tack. It is very obvious from her handling of questions by the young adults that she understand how to address young people and make all their questions important.

Ed Escoffier, Librarian, Franklin Square Public Library

For a wonderful variety of activities, with interest to various age groups, Diana Berthold lends her creative talents towards quality presentations and successful library programs. She came to my library for various activities of interest to young teens: introduction to horses, hair braiding and fashion designing. She offers a nice selection of crafts.

Her catalogue and specifics about each program includes prices and makes booking simple and easy. Besides her artistic talents and ability to teach, Diana is cooperative and very professional and can also offer you suggestions.

Thank you for your excellent "Mother's Day Seashell Wreath" program, which you presented last night at Bellmore Memorial Library.

The materials you brought were beautiful, and your interaction with the kids was a pleasure to watch. Everyone went home with a totally unique product, made from exactly the same supplies; and everyone was proud of their Mother's Day gift!

Again, many thanks for sharing your expertise with the young adult community of Bellmore.

Just a note of appreciation for the hair braiding program you did here. It was a big success! I may want to run it again in the spring. Thanks again!

Thanks so much for the great photo of our young adult group and their winning float. The Library greatly appreciates your contributions of creativity, time and effort to our successful entry this year and past years. You can tell I love using the note cards you designed!

Thanks again for your generous support.

Thank you for presenting your Fashion Design Workshop at Oceanside on the evening of Wed., April 13.

You provided a generous helping of useful insider information to anyone looking toward the fashion industry for a career. The group especially enjoyed trying their hands at creating some original designs of their own, under your able guidance. You also treated your audience with respect, never "talking down" to them, an attitude which teens need and appreciate.

Again, thank you for offering our youngsters a truly worthwhile program.

Margaret Cole Young Adult Librarian Oceanside Library

I wanted to thank you for the Fashion Design Workshop that you did at our library this summer. The input that we received from the teens who participated was very good. Many of them are looking forward to having more fashion workshops and said that they enjoyed your program.

Your enthusiasm and professionalism were greatly appreciated by both the teens who participated in the workshop and by our staff. We look forward to having you back to our library in the future.

Ms. Berthold has been an active member of our community for many years. She is dedicated to her crafts. Among the many occasions we have made use of her considerable talents was during our Centennial Celebration, fourth of July parades, Fishing rod Program exhibits and our Teen Friends Programs. She was also chosen among many other artists to design our PML stationery.

She has abundant energy and creativity. We are fortunate to have her as one of our patrons and workshop leaders.

Judith R. Gibbard, Director Patchogue-Medford Library

Thank you so much for the wonderful words you spoke at the Library's Centennial Gala on Sunday. We know that our community is as proud of the accomplishments and services of the Library as you are, but it is so nice to hear it put into words. You, of course, went even further and sewed the words and thoughts into a quilt. The quilt will be with us for a long time to come.

The staff of the Young Adult Department has requested that it hang in the Young Adult area where it can be enjoyed by all.

Thank you again. We are so pleased to claim such a talented person as yourself as our patron.

Judith R. Gibbard, Director Patchogue-Medford Library

I wanted to personally thank you for the fine job that you did instructing the "Tie-Dye" Crafts for my young adults on August 8th. The results were superb!

All of the participants were very satisfied with the way their crafts turned out. Under your expert guidance and meticulous instruction, they were able to create garments that looked as if they were crafted by someone with much more experience and skill. Many were seen in the library several days later proudly wearing their shirts!

I think that after seeing the outcome, the teens understood and appreciated the amount of patience and control that you exhibited in running the craft classes. The parents also commented positively on the neat and orderly manner in which their children completed the craft.

I knew that this would be an excellent summertime craft. After witnessing the overwhelming response to and popularity of this program, I would not think twice about scheduling it again next year. Consider this letter both an endorsement and invite for future appearances.

Again, thanks for bringing quality programming to my library.

Thank you so much for your wonderful Young Adult program, "Fashion Design Workshop." It was a wonderful way for young people to learn about the fashion industry and I think that all who attended were pleased and interested in learning.

I would like to add that I would tell anyone that you did a wonderful job and I should be glad to tell them so.

This is to let you know how much the Calligraphy and Card program that you ran for the Library on May 9 was enjoyed. One of the attendees, Ms. Franklin, took the time to write us a note letting us know how much she and her child enjoyed the program. A copy of the letter that went to Ms. Franklin is enclosed.

I understand that you will be at the Library again in July to teach a stained glass workshop.

Loren Agostino, Assistant Director Freeport Memorial Library

My name is Mary La Rosa and I am a Young Adult Librarian at the Franklin Square Public Library. I am in charge of selecting programs that will interest the teenagers in this community.

Ms. Diana Berthold has given such wonderful workshops and programs at my library and I am pleased to report that these programs include a variety of interests and activities. Her life experiences and talents translate well and lend variety to the different types of workshops and programs that she offers.

Part of her professionalism is reflected in her publicity. All of her programs include descriptives and price ranges and are easily accessed via a compiled booklet thus making the actual selection and booking very easy and affordable.

I can only add that any of her diverse programs offer high interest rate and good number turn out.

I would like to thank you for the fabulous Fashion Design workshop that you taught recently at the Library. The teenagers truly enjoyed this class, and expressed such excitement about their individual designs. Your organization and rapport with the students is greatly appreciated.

It was a pleasure to have you teach this fun and innovative class. I look forward to having you back at the Library in the future!

Melissa Gabrielle South Country Library Bellport, NY

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for all the programs that you have done at our library. Not only do the children have a fantastic time but the parents even come back to thank us for booking such wonderful activities.

Many of the young adults came back into the library donning their new tie-dye shirts that you did with them this summer! You have a great rapport with the teens!

We look forward to your next visit at the library. Thank you again.

We have hired you for many workshops over the years....from Beautiful Braids to Tie-Dye to made-to-order crafts, and we have never been disappointed. Your gift of a personalized quilt is on permanent display in our YA area.

I am particularly thankful for the times you have jumped in to help me in my various outrageous schemes. I know that I can always count on you.

Your workshops have always been successful and you have a winning way with teenagers. How exciting that you are expanding your current programs! Although I do not do the program booking any longer, I hope we can find new ways to work together.

Barbara E. Hoffman, Administrative Liaison For Programs and Community Services Patchogue-Medford Library

The Young Adult patrons who participated in your macramé class today told me that they really enjoyed the session. Our kids are always looking for a fun craft to occupy their time, especially on the weekends. I think even something as basic as making lanyards in colors of their choice would appeal to them. They could create key chains or longer ones like necklaces to hold their key on. We have many 'latchkey' youngsters who hang out here at the library every day from 3-6 p.m..

Thank you for coming and teaching the children a new skill today. I'm sure they'd be happy to take another program with you in the future.
